Kalyan is a city in the Thane district of Maharashtra state in the Konkan division and a part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Due to its highly educated population, it is often called the second cultural capital of Maharashtra after Pune. Kalyan is the seventh biggest city in the state of Maharashtra and India’s 28th largest.
